Using Live Transcription in AT&T Office@Hand Mobile Video Meetings
Article #95778
This article provides information on how to use live transcription in AT&T Office@Hand Mobile.
Using live transcription during an AT&T Office@Hand Video meeting lets you view a transcript of all spoken words or other meeting audio — created in real-time. Hosts, moderators, and participants with permission can follow the conversation visually and search, copy, and download the transcript.
Admins can manage transcription settings company wide, or for select users, to:
-
Allow or block meeting transcription.
-
Make transcripts visible to hosts and moderators only.
-
Allow transcripts to be copied and downloaded by hosts and moderators only.
If you’re a host or moderator and live transcription isn’t available, contact your company admin.
Starting and viewing live transcription
Starting live transcription
Hosts, moderators, and participants with permission can start live transcription any time during a video meeting:
- Tap More in the bottom menu bar.
- Tap Start transcription.
NOTE: If the bottom menu bar isn’t present, tap anywhere on the screen to make it appear.
- Once live transcription starts, you’ll be automatically taken to the Transcript page.
Whenever live transcription is in progress, the following will be present:
- A Transcription icon at the top right of the Transcript page
- A Transcription icon at the top right of the main meeting screen
Viewing live transcription
Once transcription begins, hosts, moderators, or participants with permission can view the transcript:
- Tap More in the bottom menu bar.
- Tap View transcript. This will take you to the Transcript page.
To return to the main meeting screen from the Transcript page, tap the Back arrow at the top left.
NOTE: If you’re using an iPad or Android tablet, the live transcript will appear on the right of the screen. You can tap the Pin icon at the top right to pin the transcript to the side of your meeting window so that it doesn’t block the content on your screen.
Pausing live transcription
Hosts, moderators, or participants with permissions can pause live transcription by tapping the Pause icon at the top right of the Transcript page. This pauses live transcription and allows you to resume it at any time.
Resuming live transcription
To resume live transcription after pausing it, tap the Start icon at the top right of the Transcript page. Transcription will continue from this point.
NOTE: You can only resume live transcription from the Transcript page. To get there from the main meeting screen, tap More in the bottom menu bar, then View transcript.
Searching the conversation
During a video meeting, participants with permission to view the transcript can search the conversation by entering keywords into the search bar at the top of the Transcript page.
You can search the transcript whether live transcription is in process or paused.
NOTE: By default, the transcript displays the most recently transcribed text. You can scroll up to view earlier parts of the transcript.
Changing the language of live transcription
Live transcription is currently available in English, Spanish, and German. As a host, moderator, or participant, you can change the language of your transcription anytime during the meeting once live transcription has been started:
- Tap Language I’m speaking now at the bottom of the transcript.
- Select the language you’re speaking. A banner at the top of your screen will confirm the language.
NOTE: Language selection is specific to the speaker. Your language selection only affects the transcription of words you speak.
Managing settings for live transcription
As a meeting host or moderator, you can edit your settings to control who can view, download, and copy transcripts:
- During a meeting, tap More in the bottom menu bar.
