Requesting and Approving Remote Desktop Control in the AT&T Office@Hand Video
Article #94723

This article explains how to request and approve remote desktop control during an AT&T Office@Hand Video meeting.

AT&T Office@Hand Video provides remote desktop control sessions during a meeting. Participants can request the presenter to gain control of their screen during a screen share. When approved, the requester can use the mouse, touchpad, and keyboard on the presenter’s desktop.

Limitations

  • The remote desktop control feature is available when the presenter uses only the AT&T Office@Hand app desktop. The controller uses either the AT&T Office@Hand app desktop or web.
  • The remote desktop control feature is available only while full screen sharing (not app sharing). Only one controller is allowed per remote desktop control session.

Requesting remote desktop control during screen share

Meeting participants can request to remotely control the screen of the host or screen-sharer.

  1. Click the View options dropdown menu during a meeting screen share and select Ask for remote control.
  2. Click Ask for control to confirm. A notification at the top of the screen will appear when the presenter has given you access to their screen.

During a screen share, presenters can select Don’t allow requests under Remote control.

When the presenter grants remote control to another participant, a popup window appears on the requester’s screen. The requester can click on Open System Preferences to accept remote control.

A notification at the top of the screen will appear on the requester’s screen when granted access. The requester can stop the remote control anytime.

The presenter can temporarily take back control at any time by moving their mouse or typing.

The remote controller can also take back the control by moving their mouse or typing. If the presenter wants to end the remote-control session, they can select Remote Control > Stop remote control from the sharing toolbar at any time.
