Re-provision Bring Your Own Devices (BYOD) for the .Biz Domain for AT&T Office@Hand
Article #58249
This article provides information on how to re-provision Bring Your Own Devices (BYOD) for the AT&T Office@Hand’s .biz domain.
In the interest of security, the Office@Hand is updating its platform. Any customer using a phone or device with AT&T Office@Hand that was not bought from AT&T or has manually configured their phones, will need to change the domain configuration of these devices to continue service. For security purposes, the services that these devices currently connect to will not be available after January 15, 2021. In order to continue AT&T Office@Hand service on these devices after this time, they will need to be re-configured to communicate with our new system.
Note: AT&T Office@Hand URLs will be migrated to the .biz domain by January 15, 2021. In the meantime, include BOTH the .com and .biz (for example: pp-pre.ringcentral.com and pp-pre.ringcentral.biz) domains on your whitelist.
Phone Settings
The steps for programming will vary from device to device. Please refer to your devices’ documentation for specific instructions on how to adjust domain settings. The settings that need to be changed are listed in the table below:
Outbound Proxy
FROM |
TO |
sip*.ringcentral.com |
sip10.ringcentral.biz (San Jose, CA) or
sip20.ringcentral.biz (Washington D.C.)
Note: It is optimal to choose the Outbound Proxy near your location |
The “SIP Domain”, “Username”, “Password”, and “Authorization ID” settings should remain the current settings.
Networking Implications
After changing the SIP URL in the phone configuration, it is important that the phones can
communicate with the required ringcentral.biz domain. If the network in which the phones exist is very restrictive, there is the possibility that this traffic may be blocked at your company’s firewall. See AT&T Office@Hand Networking Requirements for more information.
