Article #69816

This article provides instructions on managing messages, including how to edit, delete, like, pin, quote, and copy a message in the AT&T Office@Hand Mobile.

Once you or someone else have posted a message in a message thread, there are several actions that you can take on a message in the AT&T Office@Hand Mobile, including the following:

  • Editing a message you sent
  • Deleting a message you sent
  • Reacting to a post with emojis
  • Forwarding a post
  • Copying text
  • Quoting another person’s message
  • Marking a message as unread
  • Bookmarking a message
  • Pinning a message

Editing a message

  1. Navigate to Message via the bottom menu bar.
  2. Select a conversation from the conversation list.
  3. Tap on your sent message, then select Edit message in the pop-up menu.
  4. Tap into the message field and make any changes you’d like.
  5. Once you’ve finished editing your message, tap the Save text in the top right corner of the message field.

NOTE: There is a different process for editing a file attached to a message. If you’d like to learn more about editing an attached file, visit Managing Attached files in the AT&T Office@Hand Mobile.

Deleting a message

  1. Navigate to Message via the bottom menu bar.
  2. Select a conversation from the conversation list.
  3. Tap on your sent message, then select Delete message in the pop-up menu.
  4. Tap Delete in the window.

NOTE: If you’re deleting a message that only contains an attached file and no text, you can tap Delete attachment in the pop-up menu, then tap Delete.

Forwarding a post

As a user, you can share messages and/or attachments from one conversation with others in another conversation. The forwarded post contains the original poster’s name, the team name, and a quote of the original message along with any included attachments. If the post was forwarded from a group conversation, the group conversation’s name will not be displayed and will only show as a “direct conversation”.

  1. Select a conversation from the conversation list.
  2. Tap on the message, then select the Forward message icon in the pop-up menu.
  3. Enter the names or email addresses in the To field.
  4. Tap Done at the top right corner.

Copying a message

  1. Select a conversation from the conversation list.
  2. Tap on the message, then select Copy in the pop-up menu.

NOTE: If the message that you copied contains @mention, the name of the mentioned group or contact will be copied as plain text.

Marking a message as unread

As a user, you can put a mark on a post that you haven’t finished reading, so that you can continue reading from where you left off the next time you enter the conversation.

  1. Select a conversation from the conversation list.
  2. Tap on the message, then select the Mark unread from here flag icon in the pop-up menu.

NOTE: This step will mark all messages that come after this message (including this message) as unread.
