Once you or someone else have posted a message in the message thread, there are several actions that you can take on a message, including the following:
- Editing a message you sent
- Deleting a message you sent
- Reacting to a post with emojis
- Forwarding a post
- Quoting another person’s message
- Pinning a message
- Bookmarking a message
- Creating a task from a message
Editing a message
- Navigate to Message via the left navigation bar.
- Select a conversation from the conversation list.
- Hover over your sent message and select the Edit post pencil icon that appears at the far right.
- Click into the message field and make any changes you’d like.
- Once you’ve finished editing your message, press Enter or Return on your keyboard to save your changes.
Deleting a message
- Select a conversation from the conversation list.
- Hover your mouse over the message you’d like to delete and select the More icon that appears at the far right.
- Click the Delete post trash can icon.
- Click the Delete red button to finish deleting the message.
NOTE: If you’re deleting a message that only contains an attached file and no text, you can skip step two from the list above but follow the remainder of the process.
Forwarding a post
As a user, you can share messages and/or attachments from one conversation with others in another conversation. The forwarded post contains the original poster’s name, the team name, and a quote of the original message along with any included attachments. If the post was forwarded from a group conversation, the group conversation’s name will not be displayed and will only show as a “direct conversation”.
- Select a conversation from the conversation list.
- Hover over the message you want to share, then select the Forward message icon in the pop-up menu.
- Enter the names or email addresses in the Members field.
