Echo Detection in the AT&T Office@Hand Mobile | #96829

Hearing an echo is typically the result of audio feedback, when your microphone picks up the sound played through your speakers or headphones and plays it back into the meeting.

AT&T Office@Hand Video has an echo detection system that identifies when an echo happens and whose connection is causing it. When an echo is detected, it will display a warning message to both the host and the attendee. This warning message will guide you on how to resolve the issue.

To help prevent an echo before joining a video meeting from your desktop or web app, you can Manage your AT&T Office@Hand Video settings and turn on the echo cancellation feature.

As a host or moderator, you can Mute the audio of others in AT&T Office@Hand Video and control their ability to unmute their audio lines.

View for the attendee

As an attendee, when your line is creating an echo it’s generally caused when:

  • You are in an enclosed surrounding
  • Your speaker volume is too high
  • Your headset or bluetooth speaker is having a connection issue

AT&T Office@Hand Video will help detect the issue and send a pop-up alert. You will be given the options to mute your microphone.

The host will also be notified and given the option to mute your line.

View for the host

As a host, when an attendee’s connection is creating an echo, you will see an alert pop-up on the screen. The attendee will also see an alert and be prompted to mute their audio.

If there is more than one attendee causing an audio echo, you can mute all the participants at once.
