Issue
Some customers with Poly VVX 250 desk phones are experiencing any of the following:

• The phone emits a hissing or buzzing noise.
• The phone may completely fail.
• The issue persists even after reboot or factory restore.

Symptom
Affected Poly VVX 250 phones emit a buzz or hissing noise.

Affected environment

• Poly VVX 250 phones installed using Power Over Ethernet (POE). The issue does not impact phones powered by the external PSU.
• Poly VVX 250 phones that were shipped after June 2022, specifically those manufactured between June and October 2022.

Cause
The issue is caused by a manufacturing defect. These phones have hardware Console Revs A, B, or C as
seen on the console, or ZZA, ZZB or ZZC as shown on the box and shipping information.
