Assign your voicemail type in AT&T Collaborate Enhanced Mobile

As a user with the AT&T Collaborate℠-Enhanced Mobile service, you can choose whether to use Mobility voicemail or Collaborate voicemail as your voicemail type.

Mobility voicemail is the voicemail type that is native to your mobile device. Collaborate voicemail is the voicemail type that you access through the Collaborate desktop or mobile apps.
When you upgrade to the AT&T Enhanced Mobile service, you’re set up by default to use Mobility voicemail. However, you can change your voicemail type assignment from Mobility to Collaborate or from Collaborate to Mobility.

Important: When you switch from one voicemail type to another, your voicemail files, voicemail settings, and recorded greetings from the previous type do not migrate to the new type. It’s also likely that you won’t be able to access your old voicemail files after the switch, even if you switch back to the previous type.

Switch from Mobility voicemail to Collaborate voicemail

  1. On the Collaborate homepage, on the left menu, click Features. The Features page appears.
  2. In the Voicemail section, click Edit. The Manage voicemail page appears.
  3. Under Assign voicemail type, select the assignment you want to switch to.
    • If you’re switching from Mobility voicemail to Collaborate voicemail, you can also do the following:
      • Reset the your PIN for voicemail access.
      • Change your voicemail settings about when calls are sent to voicemail and how you’re notified about messages.
      • Manage the greeting that callers hear when they’re sent to voicemail.
      • Manage recorded announcements that you’ve saved.
    • If you’re switching from Collaborate voicemail to Mobility voicemail, you can also do the following:
      • Change your voicemail settings about when calls are sent to voicemail and how you’re notified about messages.
  4. Click Save.
  5. When prompted, click Continue to confirm that you want to switch the voicemail type.

After you assign the new voicemail type, the Voicemail change pending message appears. The change should occur in near real-time (RTP).

To check to see if your change has been implemented:

  • In the Voicemail change pending window, click Refresh. If the change has been implemented, the message will disappear.
