Manage external contacts with AT&T Collaborate

Easily keep your internal and external contacts in one place. As an administrator for the AT&T CollaborateSM service with permissions to manage at the company level, you can manage external contacts (people outside the company) for your organization. When you add or delete external contacts, they’re automatically added to or deleted from the company directory.

Both internal and external contacts appear in the company directory. External contacts are easy to identify because only their names and phone numbers appear. Site and other information appears only for internal contacts.

You can add or edit external contacts one at a time, or you can upload a comma-separated values (CSV) file containing up to 10,000 names and phone numbers.

Add multiple contacts from a CSV file

  1. On the Collaborate homepage, on the left menu, click Directory. The Directory page appears.
  2. In the External contacts section, click Edit. The External contacts page appears.
  3. Click Add new contact.
  4. Click Import Phone List.

If a contact is duplicated exactly, the information is added only once. The directory can have a contact with different names and the same phone number.

Add contacts one at a time

  1. On the Collaborate homepage, on the left menu, click Directory. The Directory page appears.
  2. Under External contacts, click Edit. The External contacts page appears.
  3. Click Add new contact.
  4. Enter a name and phone number, and then click Save.

Download a CSV file and save a copy of your contacts

  1. On the Collaborate homepage, on the left menu, click Directory. The Directory page appears.
  2. Click Export Phone List.
  3. Select Save File, and then click OK.

A copy of the file is saved to your computer. You can manage this file offline, adding names and phone numbers, and then upload the file later. If you currently have no contacts, the CSV file shows only the column headers. Add names and phone numbers for your external contacts. You can add up to 10,000 names and phone numbers to the file and then upload the file to add names to your external contacts.

Edit or delete a contact

  1. On the Collaborate homepage, on the left menu, click Directory. The Directory page appears.
  2. In the External contacts section, click Edit. The External contacts page appears.
  3. Next to the contact that you want, do 1 of these things:
    • Click the Edit icon, update the name and phone number, and then click Save.
    • To delete the contact, click the Delete icon. When you’re prompted to confirm the deletion, click Continue.
