Manage Busy Lamp Field in AT&T Collaborate

The Busy Lamp Field feature lets users use speed dial to monitor another user’s availability on their IP phone display. As an administrator with the AT&T CollaborateSM service, you manage Busy Lamp Field for users.

Note: The Busy Lamp Field feature is available only if your company has purchased the Enhanced Voice Features bundle. Additionally, the Busy Lamp Field monitoring device must be set as the user’s primary device.

Turn Busy Lamp Field on or off

  1. On the Collaborate homepage, on the left menu, expand Users, and then click Manage users. The Manage users page appears, listing all users.
  2. Search for or select the user you want to manage. The manage page for that user appears.
  3. Click Adjust settings. The Manage settings page appears.
  4. Click Enhanced Voice Features bundle. The Enhanced Voice Features bundle settings page appears.
  5. If no features are assigned, click Assign features, check Busy Lamp Field, and then click Apply.
  6. In the Busy Lamp Field section, click the Edit icon. The Busy Lamp Field page appears.
  7. To let this user monitor call presence and the calls parked for selected users, check Enable Call Park notification.
  8. Do 1 of these things:
    – To assign users for this user to monitor, click Add users. In the Add users window, search for and select users, and then click Save.
    – To unassign users, click You have <x> monitored users. In the View or unassign users window, search for or select users, and then click Save.
  9. When you’re finished, click Save.
    Note: You can assign only as many monitored users as this user’s device has speed dial keys.

Set up the user’s device to support Busy Lamp Field monitoring

After you assign Busy Lamp Field to a user, set up the user’s device to display the Busy Lamp Field list.

Notes:

  • The Busy Lamp Field’s monitored user list appears only on IP phones. It’s not shown with the Collaborate app or on analog phones (using an analog adapter).
  • The Busy Lamp Field monitoring device must be set as the user’s primary device.
  1. On the Collaborate homepage, on the left menu, expand Users, and then click Manage users. The Manage users page appears, listing all users.
  2. Search for or select the user you want to manage. The manage page for that user appears.
  3. Click Assign devices and apps. The Manage equipment page appears.
  4. Click Manage devices and apps. The Manage devices and apps page appears.
  5. Do 1 of these things:
    – Search for or select the device you want to manage.
    – If the user already has a device, next to the device you want to manage, click the Edit icon.
    – The manage page for that device appears.
  6. Click View and manage profile. The View and manage profile page appears.
  7. In the Other settings section, next to Busy Lamp Field monitored device, under Status, make sure the feature is turned on.
  8. Click Save.

Users can manually turn their devices off and on when convenient. The device reset is successful only if the phone is currently registered (connected to the network).
