Initial set up of AT&T Enhanced Push-to-Talk for BlackBerry devices
Setup may only be completed after your phone number has been activated with the feature.
For first-time users, a BlackBerry ID may need to be created and App World Terms of Service must be read and accepted.
Enhanced PTT is supported by both RIM BlackBerry Bold and Curve handsets. There are operational differences between the two handsets due to the Bold’s touch screen. The Bold’s client can be activated using the touchscreen, while Curve users need to use the scroll function and trackpad.
From the home screen, locate and launch the browser.
Type “EPTT.mobi” into the URL address bar, and then press the trackpad on the handset or tap/click the dropdown.
Enhanced PTT Download Center page appears.
Scroll to and tap/click Download Now. Note: If prompted to confirm whether you want to use BlackBerry App World with a new device, tap/click Yes to confirm.
Tap/click Download. Note: If prompted to confirm Trusted App status, tap/click Yes. If prompted to review permissions, ensure “Information” and “Appearance” boxes are checked, and then tap/click Save.
Successful installation confirmation appears.
Tap/click Yes to activate. Note: Once activated, you are automatically placed in Available status as indicated by a green “P” on the phone’s notification bar.
Scroll to, read, and accept the licensing agreement.
Tap/click View Tutorial. Note: This step may also be completed later by tapping Skip tutorial. The tutorial may be viewed anytime in the Enhanced PTT application by pressing the phone’s Menu key, and then tapping Options.
Enhanced PTT Client Tutorial launches in a new browser window; follow the on-screen instructions.
After completing the tutorial, press the Back button on the handset to return to the app.
AT&T Enhanced Push-to-Talk is now active and ready for use.
