  1. What is porting?
Porting or Number Transfer means transferring your existing landline or cell phone number from one telephone service provider to AT&T Office@Hand.
  2. How do I find out if my phone number is eligible to be ported?
There are several steps to check if your phone number is eligible to be transferred:
Check with your current service provider that your numbers are transferable.
When you submit a number transfer request on the online portal, checking your number’s eligibility is included in the Number Transfer wizard.
  3. How does the porting process work?
Submit a port request from the Office@Hand online account. The information entered must match exactly what’s on record with the user’s current phone service provider. You will need to follow the instructions on the screen in the online account. Office@Hand will then send a port request to your current service provider. Set up greetings, answering rules, etc. for Office@Hand account, so they can make and receive calls (if part of service plan) on temporary Office@Hand phone numbers until the transfer is complete. Office@Hand will then notify you by email when the porting is complete. At that point, their ported number(s) will be ready to use with Office@Hand.
  4. What information is needed to transfer my number?
You’ll need to provide the following information when you submit your transfer request:
    Number/s you are porting,
Account number and PIN#/Passcode (when porting a wireless number),
    Physical address (no PO Boxes).
NOTE: Please make sure the information you submit during sign up matches the information your current provider has on file. Any discrepancies can delay the number porting process.
  5. How do I check the status of my current number transfer?
Once you complete your request online, you would be able to see the status of your request in the Phone Numbers > Transferred & Vanity.
  6. When can I cancel my current phone service?
Your service must remain active with your current provider throughout the number porting process. You will be notified by AT&T Office@Hand once your number has successfully transferred and you will be able to cancel your service with your current provider at that time. AT&T Office@Hand does not cancel your service on your behalf.
  7. How will I know any other needed information to complete my transfer request?
Our processing team will reach out to you via phone and/or email if additional information is required. You can also check the porting status on your online account at any time.
